Click to Chat with Spark

Click to Chat is nice functionality to have especially for guests to be able to quickly engage in a conversation with a Cisco Spark User. What i am about to show here has many expansion possibilities but this scenario assumes that the guest also has a Cisco Spark Account.

I have embedded a link on my Email Signature that says Click here to Spark Chat with Me.

The end user is then asked to enter his name as well as spark email address. The Name of the user is used only for creating the Spark Room Name. Clicking Submit on this page will take the user to the next page where authentication happens with Cisco Spark/Webex IDBroker.

These passwords are not stored anywhere since the authentication happens directly with Webex/Cisco Spark. Once entered, the guest can now chat with me (Could be you) via Cisco Spark web client.

A Guest room name is created with the name matching the Guest name and at the end of the conversation, both users have access to Kortana's bot commands to kill the room or archive the room and then kill the room manually. How to archive and kill a room are covered in another post in this blog. Feel free to read those articles as to how to archive and clean up a room.
